HORNE PARK LADY WINS REGIONAL FINAL OF THE EWGA MEDAL

Well done to Lorraine Everard, who finished top of the pile at the recent Regional final held at Chippenham Golf Club at the end of May. This competition is open to the 2009 winners of the EWGA Medals in any club affiliated to EWGA. The 100 players returning the lowest aggregate differential of four nett scores in relation to the LGU/USGA SSS of the course qualified for a EWGA Regional Medal Final. Lorraine beat the club representatives from the other 99 clubs who took part in the South West event.

Lorraine goes to The Worcestershire on 26th June to compete in the National Final against the other 59 qualifiers from the regional finals. Good Luck.

ADDINGTON COURT DAY OUT

Tuesday 13th April arrived and was a beautiful sunny day as 12 of our members set off for an early start to play Addington Court.

The course played beautifully and the scores were very good considering for many people it was their first time playing this course. Our  winner for the day with an outstanding 38 points was our handicap secretary Chris Davies who played a magnificent game even though she had the most awful toothache ....Well done to you Chris.  This was closely followed by Louise Vincent with 36 points.  After our game we all went to lunch at the local Pub The White Bear .

HORNETTES DAY OUT

Our first Hornettes Day out of 2010 took place at a lovely course called Chelsfield Lakes near Orpington.

Unfortunately the sun God did not smile on us and it poured with rain all day. 22 Ladies played all looking very smart  in our yellow and black. I think at one stage we had the whole course to ourselves as no one else seemed to want to brave the elements.  We had a great time with some fantastic scores in at the finish. Diane Coombes won the day on countback (39 points), closely followed by Louise Vincent (also 39) and Mary White (38 points). It was good to see the higher handicappers in the prizes; well done ladies.

This was a great turn out for our first Hornette Tour of 2010 and I am certainly looking at other venues for our next tour in April sometime .

Hornettes Tours welcome every lady  who is a member of Horne Park and also past members too and it would be lovely to see some of our newer members joining us. As long as you have a handicap everyone is welcome. Any feedback or ideas for future events, please contact Loraine Chappell (Social Sec)

KNOCK OUTS HAVE STARTED - SNOW UPDATE

Please make sure you play matches by the deadlines (we realise the snow may play havoc with this, but if players can arrange to play their matches well before the deadlines, this gives some degree of flexibility).

The deadline for the first round has been extended; please play matches as soon as possible; but all 1st and 2nd round matches MUST be played by 25th February, so please rearrange for the earliest possible date.

Also, make sure that whether you are top or bottom on the draw, you each try and make contact with each other, to sort dates a.s.a.p.
